About Me
Since beginning my nursing career in 2009, I have dedicated myself to supporting birthing families in hospitals and community settings. My experiences have exposed me to systemic flaws within healthcare and challenged my beliefs about nursing, highlighting the damaging impacts of saviors and unhealthy power dynamics on patients and healthcare workers alike. I passionately advocate for trauma-informed care as a standard, firmly believing it is crucial for creating supportive systems for caregivers and those in their care. My expertise includes Inpatient Obstetrics Nursing, Trauma-Informed Care, and fostering Perinatal Collaborative Care Relationships, all striving to improve perinatal outcomes.
My mission extends beyond professional boundaries to cultivating a community where everyone feels valued and supported throughout their journey. My commitment is to move forward together, making impactful changes that benefit everyone touched by the healthcare system. In addition to maintaining a bedside practice at a community hospital in PA and pursuing my PhD in nursing, I actively contribute to the non-profit Your BIRTH Partners, which focuses on enhancing perinatal care through community collaboration. When I'm not advocating for change or dreaming up good trouble with fellow changemakers, I enjoy yoga, reading, delicious food, and spending quality time with my partner and children.
